So today is Earth Day, and we decided we would write about LOVE and taking special care of those in your life that may need help.Help that is done out of the pure goodness in your heart.Help that is done without expecting anything back in return. Our earth needs lots of help and love.
In siser Carol’s family, they recycle their trash, have a stinky compost pile, they drive 2 energy efficient cars, use low pressure shower heads, and also buy 12 year light bulbs.
Siser Eilene recycles her families trash, makes pillows and other household items from old clothes, shops too much at any kind of stinky thrift store, and air dries the family clothes.
We teach our children not to litter and to pick up trash if you see it, EVEN if its not yours. Also to take faster showers, turn off lights, and not to waste anything.
Now to get the understanding of why we mention the Mormons.Siser and I have met the sweetest young men this year from the Mormon Faith,or The Church of LDS.If you have ever had the privilege of meeting an Elder from the LDS then you know how kind and giving they are. These young men have touched our lives in ways that we didn't see coming. They have checked on us every week, just to say hello and to see if we need anything. This kind gesture is what their mission is about, along with teaching the word of Jesus Christ. At first Siser and I didn't quite know how to accept their help without giving them something back.We had never been treated that way without strings attached. They would do anything you asked.
Before we met the Elders,we viewed the Mormons in a different way.Not in a bad way,we just thought they believed differently then us.Which they do.However, they believe in the resurrection of the cross, and we accept them as brothers in Christ.
So when Siser, and I were thinking about what to blog about.I thought about Earth Day,and Siser thought about the Mormons!
They are both similar in the same ways such as, they give such happiness and in return expect so little. All in the name of love.Loving the Earth, and loving your brother.
