Siser and I always hear about how Thanksgiving is overlooked. We as retailers start decorating for Christmas after Halloween. We have to. If we didn’t we would never have time to decorate. When you manufacture what you sell you always need to be ahead of the season. Just like advertising in newspapers and catalogs they want your stuff at least a month before.
We are very Thankful and we never forget it. I (carol) went on a mission trip to Honduras in 2008.I saw things you only see on TV there. Things that you never really think could be REAL. If you have ever been to a third world country, then you understand what I mean. It is very sad, and at times, very scary. The trip touched my heart so deep it changed me for life. That is why Siser and I host Fishers of Men soap. They are the group I went to Honduras with, after 10 days in Honduras I invited the group to come to the soap shop and volunteer their time to make a line of soaps we could sell and 100% of the profits would go to Honduras. They were as excited as I was. The Lord has blessed this line of soaps. The profits have gone to send 200 children to feeding centers in Honduras every Saturday, and pay for them to go to school. These women have volunteered time away from family, jobs, and in just having some “alone time” for themselves to gladly work circles around siser and I in the soap kitchen. Making up to 15 or 20 loaves of soap in one day! Then taking it all home to gladly cut, wrap, decorate it and price it. Then it’s back to loading it all in the car and off to sell it at a holiday gift show! This is HARD work and not for the weary. All to help these people live better lives such as food, school, clothes, medical needs, and most of all to know who our Lord Jesus Christ is!
We know that the Honduran people are very Thankful for all the love and commitment that goes in every week for this foundation. Siser and I are proud to be a part of such a special ministry, and admire these ladies for their passion to give. Pictured here are the Fishers Of Men at their first Holiday show.
