Over the weekend my daughter Willoughby broke out big time in poison Ivy.
The deal is where did it come from? We are thinking maybe a neighbors cat. My Childs arm looks like someone poured boiling water down it. Now it hurts to bend her arm. I have washed my hands so many times putting anti itch cream on her, my hands look like elephant skin. The one good thing is I had one bar of Jewelweed soap leftover from the Summer. The jewelweed soap has kept her skin from blistering, and the rash from spreading! She woke up Saturday morning itching like crazy! After using the Jewelweed soap just once made a difference in her rash. We have the picture to prove it! My customers always rave about our Jewelweed soap. Now just ask Willoughby how fast it healed!

In all the articles I read about blogging,they say people like to know personal stuff about you.
We’ll we already know my soaps,scrubs, and lotions are what I feel are the best in the industry.
What you may not know is I am a huge fan of Whitney Houston!
I do not care what she does,or has been through,who she married and why. It’s not up to me to judge her.
What I do know is her anoited voice is cyrstal clear,and she can carry a note for days She has a way of making me breakout in goosebumps all over when I hear her sing love songs,for that matter any song.

They say the biggest compliment you can get is someone copying you.
Well that might be true but who takes the end of the stick. It’s your branding they are copying.
What’s even scarier is at a glance people might think it’s you or your stuff, of course until they try it,or really look at it, and realize something is just not the same.
It happens all the time, silly bands,crocs,designer handbags.
Just look at Vermont maple syrups ad in the paper lately. Pretty sad huh? Everybody wants to ride some ones coat tail.
I just think it’s wrong,and what we in the South call down right sorry!
That’s why they arrest those people in NYC selling the fake Channel bags,Gucci, Rolex watches,and Hermes. The one thing is the people buying,and using it know it’s fake,plus they are stealing.
Some people will risk it all to try to get ahead.
Shame on you!

Today just about all of us are turning into cheapskates.
I remember as a kid my Grandmother would walk out of a Fast Food chain with a wad on napkins,packets of sweet and low, pretty much everything that was not tied down.
She is one of those sweet little Grannies that messed it up for us. Now you have to ask for condiments.
I use to go to rotary meetings with her, while I was in college. I always hated leaving the restaurant where rotary met. Granny would walk out of the restaurant with a stack of napkins rolled in her hands like a paper towel roll. Everyone would just look and smile. Uncomfortable to say the least! Thanks Granny!
Now I have become a cheapskate! I love a bargain, a good deal. The only problem is sometimes the good deal is a bad deal. Some things that are cheap are…well….cheap! When you do find a true bargain it’s exciting,I can't wait to tell someone.

I love these washcloths! They are cheap and good! Today it is hard to find something cheap and good!
I buy them at Wal-Mart 18 for five bucks!
Here’s the skinny.
1) They exfoliate your face in a awesome way without chemicals
2) They scrub your back,if you are prone to have breakouts
3) If you get a little too happy with your self tanner they help fade the fake bake. Like around the ankles,and knees.
4) They are easy to ring out. Most fancy, expensive fluffy washcloths are too hard for me,and my child to ring out.
5) They are great for cleaning your Childs feet, especially when you are in a hurry.

Siser and I took our nine year old girls to see JUSTIN BIEBER in Charlotte N.C.
It made all those girls screaming,passing out,and jumping all over each other at the Beatles,or Elvis look like Lawrence Welk.

Nothing touches my heart anymore than when customers send me emails, letters, and testimonies! Especially when it is from a child! I have artwork in my office from children that is so precious. I will post one of them down below. What is really touching is they come from all over the United States!
About a month ago I had 3 girls knocking on the door (we were closed) I came to the door and they had a Ohio gift basket everything in it was from, or made in Ohio! These girls make the soap shop part of their vacation every time they come to Wilmington. I was so touched I did not know what to say.
I try to always let my customers know how much I appreciate them,and if it were not for them I would not be here. But when they let you know how much they appreciate you it is very touching. Below is a note that was attached to a order from the website.

I was at the Sonic this past weekend with Siser. Placed my order. The young man on skates rolls out with my order,I rolled my window down and he says is that Nag Champa or Patchouli? Siser and I start laughing. She had just said when I picked her up you smell like patchouli.(I had just showered) Then she said I do not even like patchouli and you smell good. In fact she said Rosebud her 9 year old daughter wants me to bring some of the patchouli soap home,because of all the attention I got using it. Plus my 9 year old bathes with it and EVERYONE at their school WCA always comes up just to smell her. True Story!
What makes our Patchouli smell so good and so much better?

Customers ask me weekly, How did you get the name Out Of Eden? Well, when I found out I actually had a real business, I thought, I want a strong name and a biblical name. I have always loved Meryl Streep. She played such a strong women in Out of Africa . That’s where Out Of came from. Of course Eden came from the Garden of Eden in the Bible. I love to garden,and I love everything pure and clean and natural. I put them together and there it is Out Of Eden Soaps. Today Candy and I made 8 huge loaves of cold process soap.That’s like making 8 homemade 7 layer chocolate cakes from scratch! We made 2 loaves of Patchouli 3 loaves of Dead Sea Mud 2 loaves of Organic olive oil 1 loaf of French Rose Clay That is almost a record for Out Of Eden Soaps. One day on a really good Latte I made 10 loaves! The kicker was until about 4 in the afternoon we had no AC. I was determine to get it done. I figure if people can work outside on roofs in 100 degree weather, I can work inside with fans! Needless to say it was a productive day!
