Today we had a  soap making birthday party for a little girl turning 4. She had 6 friends come,some drove a hour to the party because they had heard about the soap shop,but had never come to shop, or visit.

I wish I could post pictures,but I can’t. I have to protect their identity.

Ages ranged from 2-6  years old, boys and girls.The children had more fun in the soap kitchen then they did eating cake!

They kept coming back to the kitchen with icing all over their sweet little faces asking in their munchkin voices is the soap ready.

Can we make another soap.

They got so excited about being able to mix,add fragrance glitter,and pour their own soaps. Yes it went everywhere,but to see their faces,watching their friends pour their own soap.In their own mold,with their own designs that  they made was awesome.

The littlest things made them so happy. I do not even recognize them anymore  the smell,the shapes they made,all the colors. Knowing they were going to bathe with the soap...

This blog is gonna big short and sweet. Like my first Husband!

I love Kashi frozen dinners! When ever I want something good to eat,and just can not stomach Mc D.

I go to my favorite grocery store and pick up a cart full of theses.

I know they cost more than other frozen foods,but check the label,it is so much better for you.Plus when you pull up to the window at your favorite fast food it cost the same!

Now don’t let them go on sale at the grocery store.I’ll be there everyday stocking up.I tell ya they are that yummy!

Thank you Kashi for helping me feel good about what I eat,when I’m in a hurry which is most of the time!

So today is Earth Day, and we decided we would write about LOVE and taking special care of those in your life that may need help.Help that is done out of the pure goodness in your heart.Help that is done without expecting anything back in return.Our earth needs lots of help and love.

In siser Carol’s family,they recycle their trash,have a stinky compost pile,they drive 2 energy efficient cars, use low pressure shower heads,and also buy 12 year light bulbs.

Siser Eilene recycles her families trash,makes pillows and other household items from old clothes,shops too much at any kind of stinky thrift store,and air dries the family clothes.

We teach our children not to litter and to pick up trash if you see it, EVEN if its not yours.Also to take faster showers,turn off lights,and not to waste anything.

I had the cutest young (tween) girl come into the soap shop about 3 weeks ago.

She wanted to be my graphic designer! She was awesome! Very pretty,hip,and talented.

We are always looking for fresh young knowledge!

Her Mother,Grandmother,(who had some cool hip name like Grandma K , ) or something totally cool for a grandmother,and her little sister came in.They looked like they walked out of a Boden catalog.

Let me just say the whole gang was not your average bear!

Lets see Momma,Grandma,and daughters were all gorgeous! Seriously!

It was like I was flattered they thought we were cool. You know it’s kinda like when somebody is totally fab,and they think your cool,and you’re thinking man this person thinks I got it going on! Such a compliment.

I have to confess.I am addicted to Diet Coke!

I hate it! I know they are terrible for my health all those chemicals to make it sweet.The artificial color.

I have tried everything that sounds fun exciting,all those swanky natural sodas,at the health food store.

The herbal infused waters.(I must say the peppermint water was my favorite if I had to choose.) The only thing is none of the alternatives had that good Coke burn! That FIZZ! I have tried Seltzer water and mixed it with juice.People it just ain’t the same.

Don't’ get me wrong I drink my eight classes of water.But come about 3:00 in the afternoon.I want my burn!

Today I went into my soap kitchen,and truly enjoyed making cold process soaps.I made organic soaps. Such as Organic soymilk loofa. Let me just tell ya the difference between Organic coconut oil,and natural coconut oil are like night and day.The natural coconut oil has no smell,But Gee Mo Nellie the Organic coconut smells like a fresh coconut macaroon! I had to make my self stop sniffing the barrel .

I also made our famous natural bug repellent soap,and finally Organic olive cream. I know it sounds boring but Olive oil or castile soap is my favorite. It is creamy non drying and 100% organic olive oil.

I enjoyed my beautiful stainless steel tables,my soap making tools I have collected over the past 11+ years. To think I started out of my house in 1999 making 2 pound batches. It is still crazy to me how fast things took off.

If I can start a business anyone can. Like the saying goes love what you do and never work a day in your life.

Why is it when your child is driving you nuts ALL day long,and someone comes like Grandmother and takes them away for the night you miss them like crazy!

I don’t get it.You are  hoping someone will come save you,and when they do,your like “my baby”.

Motherhood can be so hard,but yet so good.

Here is Willoughby my daughter, with a box of caterpillars I ask her NOT to bring home from school. Making a mess on the soap shop floor! Just a hour ago, driving me crazy because she lost one.

Now she’s gone for the weekend and I’m sad!

There is so much I could do,and get done. I don’t get it. I miss her!

It came to my attention that a young intern who works part time here  at the soap shop ,did not know the difference between Organic and Natural.Well,for all my peeps that are still confused I’m gonna try to break it down elementary style.Let’s say you have a banana,or as we say in the good ole South…bo nanner.So this bo nanner is a natural fruit.It comes from a tree planted in the dirt.However,it has been treated unfairly.It has been drugged with nasty hormones that make it real pretty and yellow,and make it grow super quick.It also was sprayed with some stinky repellent to keep insects and rodents from eating it. Not only is it bad for us to eat,it’s bad for Mother Earth and its surroundings.
